Having looked into some of Wolfgang Weingart’s work, a fantastic graphic designer and leader of the Swiss-Punk typography movement, I used some of his projects as inspiration for this self-directed typographical project. I use a bold Helvetica ‘A’, and used Adobe Illustrator to manipulate it as a vector, exploring different ways of distorting it and combining it with other versions of itself, to create interesting and dynamic shapes. The final result was a distorted mass of edges, hardly hinting at its typographic origins.
